Introduction:

Today, as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the VE Day, which is Victory in Europe Day, we take a moment to reflect on the courage, effort, sacrifices, and persistence of those who fought for a brighter future for all of us could live in a much better and more peaceful world than the one they lived at the moment during the World War II. On May 8th, 1945, as the infamous dictator Adolf Hitler and his Nazi armies fall down, it not only marks down the end of World War II and victory of the European battlefield to the Allies, but the peaceful environment that it brings also shaped our world today.

At FCM, we believe in the values that VE Day reflects to us: unity, peace, perseverance, and the pursuit of a better future have reflected acrossed many of our daily agendas in various areas and across borders. It not only reminds us to remember the past, but it also guides us to build a better world together by uniting each other via various cooperation and stabilization to achieve our common goals together. It also reflects our value of building a diversified world.

Historical  Significance

VE day was declared after Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender on May 8, 1945 by bringing an end of the greatest war in our history,

It also brought the end to the endless genocide and nightmares to millions of Jewish families in Europe.

Celebrations erupted and held across various countries worldwide, including the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and many allied nations worldwide.

Today, countries from worldwide still observe this day to recognize and honor to those who fought and die for seeking a peaceful, much more unitied, diversified world for us.

Why It Matters Today？

Even through the World War II has been ended for decades, the legacies of the VE Day still remain relevant and can teach us many things: it is a reminder of:

1. the importance of global unity in the incoming challenge period and environment

2. the resilience of individuals and communities striving for peace and better future

3. the sacrifices made so that future generations may live in a more secured, diversified, united, and peaceful world.
